Lint Trap
2018
Broken Washing Machine, Cottonwood Branches
16′ x 14′ x 3′
Commissioned by Bernalillo County and the Bachechi Open Space, Lint Trap was a collaboration between Louis Wilcox, Josh Stuyvesant and Myself. Washing machines, in their ubiquity, continue to clean our clothing while polluting our water systems with microfibers and plastics. This work, with its adjacency to the Rio Grande, serves to confront the division humans have created with nature. And, though our actions and innovations often act as interruptions to nature’s procedures, it reclaims all our garbage, it embraces our mistakes.
