More Clouds to Come

2019

Dumpster, Wood, Acrylic mirror

32″ x 64″ x 52″

Commissioned by Art Park 21 and the City of Albuquerque Public Art, this work sits in the open space adjacent to the Rio Grande. The Rio Grande has been a site of waste disposal in the past, and continues to be contaminated from legal and illegal dumping. This work invites dialogue about the concept of waste and disposal sites. Why isn’t the way we dispose of things more thoughtful? Why is there waste at all? Considering that we are fully capable of creating materials that are sustainable and reusable, why do we continue to create toxic, non-reusable things?
